I am pgwp holder who was eligible for the public policy of 18 months extension. At the time of the announcement my work permit was valid thus I got the option to opt in. However even if it showed the opt in was successful I never received an in Canada approval letter so I submitted an application by the normal process on may 29th, which was approved on July 24th, 2023. Here are the facts,
1: My previous pgwp expired on 11th April 2023 but I received the interim work authorization
2: before the public policy announcement I have submitted another application to extend my work permit on January 17th, 2023. Which got refused on May 26th, 2023. But I received a letter stating “WP-Ext except Pgwp” to authorize to work for the period of the decision.
Now I am going to apply for PR. Even if I had the interim work authorization that email was not a temporary resident document.
Question 1:
Does that mean I was on invalid status for two days? (May 27 and 28) ?
Question 2:
Would it affect my PR application under CEC stream?
