Hi to all,

For CEC application, reference letter has to be submitted for the last 3 years of canada experience as per schedule 8 form. This means i need to count from April 2009 to April 2012.

I was in canada on work permit from Nov 2008 to May 2009 and then from Jan 2010 to till date.

Only less than 2 months (exactly 45 days) of my initial stinct is coming under last 3 year experience. My concern here - should i include reference letter for my initial stinct of 7 months as well or is it fine if i can submit for Jan 2010 to till date.

Can some one please suggest on this..

Thanks for your guidance..

Wish i get a reply form few seniors in this DB.

Thansk you..

Include reference letter for initial stint of 7 months.

As your experience is not contiunous , I suggest you should include reference of 7 months + ROE if available.

Thanks for your response duke.

My total work experience in canada is not continuos but the CEC requirement of 24 months is continuos from jan 2010 to till date.

As you said, i have ROE from service canada. can i include this for the 7 months period in the absence of reference letter for this period.

Thanksss,,

it is alway better to include reference letter from past 3 years employer and it;s requirment. So if this 7 months comes under past 3 years then you have to. Else provide ROI.

Only 45 days of these 7 months coming under last 3 years experience. Will it be fine if i include ROE inpalce of employer efe letter..

You should get the letter if you can. If you CANNOT, and if you don't need the experience to "count", just write the letter yourself and include the ROE. You should explain why you cannot get the letter, tho.

In your case, I would do

1. If You can wait for next 45 days so that you will not need to showcase a past expereince reference letter and in that case ROI is fine.

2. If you want to consider that 45 days which is significate time in considering eligiblity of a CEC class in that case you have to provide a reference letter of that period. I belive they should consider ROI if that is not your current employer but it dependens on VO.

Hi duke,
The 45 days count is not required in my case as I have continuos exp since jan 2010.

My letter from jan 2010 is enough for my eligibility unless officer starts counting from the first day in past 3 year duration. Any two year exp is enough with in 3 years is my understanding.

Rules may change at any time so planning to apply ASAP. On top of it my ref letter is dated in April

Suggest please...

I think it's straight forward...you worked for 7 months within a 3yr period - provide an employment letter or attach paystubs & ROE. These are rules, just follow them.

3 year period starts from April 14 2009 to till date if I apply today. I could not understand ur reply which states that 7 months gal with in 3 years of exp.

Can you explain if I am wrong here

Thanks

As you said yourself, only 45 days of the 7 months fall within the 3 year period. However, a reference letter or ROE will still have your start and stop dates as Nov 2008 to May 2009, eventhough only 45 days are relevant to your CEC application. Hope this clarifies your query.

Dear Senorita,

could pls advise how do an employee obtain a record of employment in case the employer is refusing to provide reference letter quoting that per company policy they discourage PR applications from employees

A ROE can be obtained from your employer or service canada(HRDSC). You can only get it if you are not working for the employer anymore or if there has been an interruption in your earnings. If you still work for your employer, you can not get one,

Ask your Manager or Supervisor for the letter. This is required by CIC and if you still can't get it, attach your paystubs, T4s and NOA, contract letters, etc and hope that all goes well. People have been rejected for not providing employment letters.
