oh, base on the info your shared, your reference letter looks like perfunctory, that you cannot cover 60% of the NOC statment. When you find your position, you should see the NOC duties, and find out your position is right. You should reapply new app under your new expeience is better, and this time you need to focus on the letter.

The officer really do a lot job on your case, and maybe there are some other reasons( like your company information), but the core problem is your letter,so what's your new postion now?

Maniac these noc codes were given to me by the noc code department of CIC.

??? If you mean HRSDC, that is a completely different government agency, and they have different goals when assigning NOC codes...

Sorry about the refusal, after such a long wait... Agree that you can and should re-apply, but make sure that you get a well-written letter of employment that supports a skilled NOC ... we are happy to help here...

Nothing wrong with the NOC codes. Just the duties provided was not well substantiated. This is only MY opinion.

hey winterfox thanks for the reply,
ic2.. it does make sense if you only still at AOR step.. but boy.. that's still way too long until they decided to reject you :s

and after looked at the email that you got back, I totally agree with Maniac in this matter.

but yea.. you can definitely apply for another CEC, I'm sure you'll get it this time :D.
Based on my experience, you'll get AOR in about 1-2 months. and medical & RPRF around 6 months after you submitted your application.

regarding your question about Business Analyst, what industry of the company that ur working on currently?

I work at the bank which says "you're richer than you think" testing out a new software system before it is implemented by the bank

lol.. then in that case in my opinion, I think you're fall under either

business analyst, computer systems or
business systems analyst

FSW processing time is 20 months, while CEC is 13 months. It is always a better idea to apply under CEC if you have a strong application meeting all the requirements in place.

Business Analyst in what industry, domain, vertical?

Business Analyst based on the answer to above can fall under 2171, 1122 and 4162:

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/english/NOC/2011/SearchKeywordResult.aspx?val11=business+analyst&val12=0&val13=0&val14=&val15=0&val16=0

All three of the above are NOC A

That bank is right across my bank LOL.

You are NOC 2171 and your duties should *closely* (60%) match these:

The following is a summary of the main duties for some occupations in this unit group:
  • Information systems business analysts and consultants confer with clients to identify and document requirements, conduct business and technical studies, design, develop, integrate and implement information systems business solutions, and provide advice on information systems strategy, policy, management, security and service delivery.
  • Systems security analysts confer with clients to identify and document requirements, assess physical and technical security risks to data, software and hardware, and develop policies, procedures and contingency plans to minimize the effects of security breaches.
  • Information systems quality assurance analysts develop and implement policies and procedures throughout the software development life cycle to maximize the efficiency, effectiveness and overall quality of software products and information systems.
  • Systems auditors conduct independent third-party reviews to assess quality assurance practices, software products and information systems.

Don't understand the question - your job title is that which your employer says it is. If your job title is "Business analyst," that's just what it is. That is distinct from the NOC, which i believe you have correctly identified.

So Jes_On.. the thing is there are various kinds of business analysts...
And nowhere on that NOC code profile does it say just "business Analyst" ..
My profile is Business Analyst and if i have to choose noc code how should i do it ? Cos NOC says
business analyst, computer systems
business analyst, informatics
business continuity analyst
business re-engineering analyst, systems
business systems analyst
business systems specialist – computer systems

What if my duties in my offer letter dont match these.. then im F&^%ed again

What jesON means is that your title is irrelevant. What's important is match your duties with the right NOC, regardless what the NOC title or your title is.

Doesn't matter. Again, your job title is that what your employer says it is.

Based on the lead statement and duties/responsibilities.

True. But If you do what you have described here, and that is in your letter, you should be OK. Don't you have a written job description from your employer?

Also just another thing.
Y did it take them 17 months to reject me? Has the delay got to with me adding my spouse to my application... cos on cic says processing times will be longer if there is a dependent on the file.
Y Cudnt they reject me long back when they checked my noc code issues back in Jan 2014.. I saw this when I got my gcms notes in Feb 2014

Did you apply GCMS request during your application?
