Just got my medical updated to "You do not need a medical exam" from "You passed your medical". Is this something to do with recent policy where medicals are no longer required for inland applicants or should this be any other case? My AOR is Oct 6th

Did anyone else receive a GU today? I just logged in and saw a GU (AOR Oct 4). Nothing has changed on the GCKey account Application/Profile though. Finger crossed :)

Yes - I have also received a GU (AOR Oct 31). Looks like Medicals changed from "Passed" to "You do not need a medical exam". Like someone mentioned , it may be due to some relaxation for the medical exam for the inland applicants.

I spoke to an IRCC rep over the call today and the rep confirmed that my Medical was updated on 9th Sept to extend the validity until 2023. Initially my medical was valid until June 23rd 2022. Medical status was first updated as passed on 8th Nov 2021.

Thanks for letting me know. "You don’t need…" means your medical is expired on file. It’ll be extended once a case officer reviews it for the final time before making a decision. So the next time it appears on your profile, you’ll be hours or a day away from your portal.

What’s your medical status on profile now? Did you receive any GU on the day it was extended?

Not sure, only my immigration lawyers have the access to my application. Have reached out to them to get a status update. They usually reply in a day or 2.

So the GU yesterday was for the medical status on my file (in GCMS) which changed to "Not started" as per information provided by the Call Centre agent. FYI my medical expired in July 2022 and was reflected on my profile by a GU with a status change to "You don't need a medical exam...". The fkng file seems to progress backward LOL

I am waiting for my PR & Work Permit applications to be processed.
Can anyone help me explain what am I supposed to do !
I am confused between three different things :-

1) WP-EXT except PGWP - You are authorized to continue working with the same conditions (ie: employer and occupation) until 20 Nov, 2022
or until a decision is made on your application, whichever is first.

2) https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/temporary/extend/after-apply.html
If we don’t finalize your application by the date on your letter, you can still keep working until we make a decision.

3) https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/foreign-workers/work-without-permit/authorization-work-without-work-permit-implied-status.html
In cases where the 120 days have passed and no decision has been rendered, the applicant may request continued proof of authorization to work using the IRCC Web form.

I have gone through the same situation. As per my understanding , you can continue work with the same employer. For e.g if you had a closed work permit then conditions of the closed work permit will continue to be in force until a decision is made on your BOWP. In this example , you can't change the employer. And if the decision is not made within 120 days still you can continue but of you need a new letter then you need to request. Essentially you can continue to work.

refer this - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/foreign-workers/work-without-permit/authorization-work-without-work-permit-implied-status.html

Hope this helps.

Total Immigration Inventory51,616
Immigration CategoryPersons as of July 17
Canadian Experience Class (EE)5,195
Federal Skilled Workers (EE)18,127
Skilled Trades (EE)369
Provincial/Territorial Nominees (EE)27,925
There were 7500 ppl invited from July 6 to Aug. 17, and estimating from below form: 35.8% of all program draws fall under CEC, this leads to roughly 2686 total CEC invitations from July 17 to August 31

Total1,5001,7503,250
Express Entry-managed ProgramJuly 6, CRS 557July 20, CRS 542Total from July 6-July 20

Federal Skilled Worker Program205417622
So estimated current velocity: (5195 + 2686 - 5214) / 44 ~= 60 cases / day
More conservative estimation excluding Aug.17 draw: ~42 cases / day
compared to just 22 cases / day between June 06 to July 17

Some hope?
