Good morning everyone,

Finally finished my processing. Got my passport back on June 20, 2016 with 2 CoPR (one for me and one for the immigration officer), instruction and a single entry visa. Went to do my landing at Rainbow Bridge, Niagra Falls same night. Landing went smooth, crossed the border and they immediately sent me back to Canada to finish my processing (took me about 5 minutes to leave the country and come back). Had to wait for about 1 hour 15 minutes at the Canadian border side, officer called my name (he was very friendly), explained everything and I am a permanent resident now. My timeline is below -

App received - OCT 2, 2014
AOR - FEB 9, 2015
RCMP req - MAR 2015
Medical & RFRP done upfront - Mar 2016
PPR request - Jun 9, 2016 (sent the same day and passport received in Ottawa Jun 13, 2016)
Passport received - Jun 20, 2016
Immigration completed - Jun 20, 2016

Thank you everyone for all your support for last 2 years. Best of luck for those who's application is still in process. I will be following this thread for some more days. Feel free to ask any question you have.

I did apply for PR under Canadian Experience class but it does not mention for CEC anywhere. The one highlighted in red. What I am suppose say here Yes or No as they specifically mention if you applied for PR under one of following classes:
Spouse or Common-law Partner in Canada
•Humanitarian and Compassionate cases
•Protected Persons in Canada
•Live-in Caregiver in Canada

Hello guys,

anybody from Toronto going to the Rainbow bridge to land for the next few days? If so, want to share a ride? The officer forgot to give my husband a document to sign and he needs to go back ASAP!

Thanks for replying :)

This is Odd. When i applied these were the options:

Does one of the following apply to you?
• I am subject of a removal order that is unenforceable
• I applied for a study or work permit before entering Canada which was

visitor status in Canada; or

and was
determined to be eligible for permanent resident status (first stage
approval).

To which i had answered Yes, there was no mention of which class. If there is no other option just do a paper application.

You don't need a US visa to complete your landing process at the border. The US officer will give you a refuse letter and you just turn back to the canadian office and that's all :)

More Clarification:

This refusal letter is in a plain white paper. US visa office don't do anything in our passport, that is the good thing.
& Future US visa applications is not going to affect because of this refusal letter.

You don't need a US visa for landing. You will just need to leave the country and they send you back to canada right away. Make sure you take $4.75 CAD for tolls to come back in and you should be fine.

If you ordered note before, that number is on the note, language section

This is probably not really the right forum for this, but just wanted to share my thoughts.

As a UK citizen who recently received the Ready for Visa email, I am today even more appreciative of the opportunity I've been given to come and make my life in Canada. My own country has just torpedoed its future because of a misguided and misinformed sense of impotent rage mixed with a healthy dose of xenophobia and anti-intellectualism.

I know Canada isn't perfect, but in today's world, it's a damn sight more progressive and welcoming than I fear the UK will be in the years to come.

I'm heartbroken about the decision my home country made yesterday, but grateful for the new life I'll be able to make in this amazing country. I know this PR thing has been a long and tough process for most of us (and it's still not over for some - hang in there!), but it's worth it in the end.
