I dont know why but I still confused and not sure if this refusal is genuine or was it a mistake?...Let me summarize what I think you situation is....There is a client 'A' for whom you need to work...Rather than hiring you directly they said that you should come through a contracting company so that they do not have to bother about their head count (This is normal and happens everywhere).....This contracting company (or lets call it a body shopping company) placed you at the client location...so for you the employer is the contracting company and not the client....

Now the question is that when you were employed with this contracting agency, were you employed directly or did you had ur own corporation company where you were the owner/director?

you got my situation correctly. i was the sole proprietor(owner) just for the name sake since the client wanted it that way. More like independent contracting.
Used to get direct deposits and salary slips from this contracting agency just like any other full time employee. Precisely they handled my accounting and ran my payroll

Is there a way we can directly contact a VO using their official email ID and explain them our situation?
I received the refusal email from the CPC Ottawa email which stated the case officer's alpha numeric ID.
I replied to the same CPC Ottawa email id. Not sure when they would be reverting back.

How would my money be refunded? I had send them cashiers check I think.

Thanks.

I am so sorry to hear about you refusal...and yes if you were the properitor then they would consider it as Self employment which was not considered as eligible in old CEC.....Also, I dont think there is a way to contact the VO directly....the only option is to contact CIC Ottawa which you have done...you may try and request them to re-consider your case but I would say start working on other options too like EE if you can.....
In case they do not re-consider you, they would return the RPRF fees....I believe they would send a chequeu to you mailing address on your application...
All the best....

Upfront Medicals done at Kitchener Yesterday i.e. March 8/2016 and paid the RPRF online.....

Hoping for the best....

Sheet updated....

Thanks....

Friends, I have a question around upfront Medicals...We chose Worker as the Category when the dr asked...but I am looking at my son's medical sheet who is 3.5 years old and it says the category as 'Student'....I hope that is OK? Anybody has a similar experience who have gone thorough upfront medicals and have kids....

Thanks....

Only your RPRF is refundable. The initial fees is NOT. If you have paid the RPRF upfront pls check the refund procedure.

That's all you need. Carry ur passport and driving licence for Canadian address verification and ID. Carry cash and eyeglasses if u wear any. If you have any tattoos addition test and more money. If you are undergoing any medical treatment they would ask you the details and prescriptions.

Do provide your UCI no to the doctor. They will provide
You with the Ecas sheet to be emailed to CIC as soon as
Your reports are uploaded or if you get the MR from CIC.

Good luck!

That's correct...They only asked me to show the AOR email that I got from CIC...I had a printout...They looked at it and returned....Nothing else is required....

Friends,

I got a RPRF request on 03 Mar, paid the same day and emailed the concerned team. Below is the response i got from them today. I was able to login my ECAS with my Receipt # (Starting with R followed by 9 numbers) starting 07 Mar 16.

"Dear Sir/Madam,

The Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) was received and your application is going through the required assessment process.

If additional documents are needed, an officer will contact you. Please ensure when submitting documents that they are still valid and will not expire within six (6) months as this could delay your application.

Due to the high correspondence we receive, our office is not able to give you a status update at this time. We appreciate your patience and keeping correspondence with our office to a minimum and up to date. In order to process request efficiently, we will not be responding to duplicate requests.
