Hi June applicants,

It's a sad day for me, I got an email from CEC today, my application got declined. The reason is about the NOC code between NOC 6221 and NOC 6411

NOC 6411 which is skill level C
Sales representatives, wholesale trade (non-technical), perform some or all of the following duties:

Promote sales to existing clients

Identify and solicit potential clients

Provide clients with presentations on the benefits and uses of goods or services

Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery dates

Prepare or oversee preparation of sales or other contracts

Consult with clients after sale or signed contracts to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support

Review and adapt to information regarding product innovations, competitors and market conditions

Represent companies that export and import products or services to and from foreign countries

May conduct sales transactions through Internet-based electronic commerce

May supervise the activities of other sales representatives.

AND NOC 6221 which is skill level B

Technical sales specialists perform some or all of the following duties:

Promote sales to existing clients

Identify and solicit potential clients

Assess clients' needs and resources and recommend the appropriate goods or services

Provide input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit clients' needs

Develop reports and proposals as part of sales presentation to illustrate benefits from use of good or service

Estimate costs of installing and maintaining equipment or service

Prepare and administer sales contracts

Consult with clients after sale to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support

Troubleshoot technical problems related to equipment

May train customers' staff in the operation and maintenance of equipment

May conduct sales transactions through Internet-based electronic commerce

May supervise the activities of other technical staff and sales specialists.

Both are pretty close to my job duties, therefore i went with NOC 6411 which i didn't know it's a skill level C.

my question is should i rectify CIC regarding this rejection or should i re-apply since i have had a working experience under NOC 6235 financial service representative, but i have left Canada for my home country because my work permit has expired.

Please advice!!! thank you

Unfortunately, skill level C is not acceptable in CEC category.

Only solution now is to reapply under CEC with skill level that best fits ur duties and is eligible for CEC .

If u have enough experience (12 months in the last 3 years udner skill level O, A or B), u can always give a cover letter stating the confusion in selelcting Skill level c in previous application.

All the best..

Sorry to hear. The job duties for the two NOCs may look similar but they are in completely different environments/ industries. Without more info on your employer I have no idea which was correct.

my question is should i rectify CIC regarding this rejection or should i re-apply since i have had a working experience under NOC 6235 financial service representative, but i have left Canada for my home country because my work permit has expired.

It will be very difficult to convince CIC now that it should have been 6221 If you have one year of full-time experience under 6235, then you can re-apply with that experience (doesn't matter that you have left Canada, only matters that the qualifying experience can be no older than 3 years at the time you apply).
