Hi all,

I am currently working in Canada under a post graduation work permit, and thus far I have partial work experience as a Physiotherapy assistant/aide which is NOc B and partial work experience as a licensed Physiotherapist which is NOC A and together it gives me 1 year of full time work for CEC stream.

My current occupation is as a physiotherapist and I am working part time in two different clinics (15 hours a week each) giving me a total of 30 hours a week. My entire experience is from Ontario and I do not have any other experience from my country of origin.

1. Can I use my hours towards both the categories while applying in CEC, although one is a regulated ( physiotherapist) and one is a non regulated (Physio assistant) profession?
2. Is it okay to work 15 hours a week in one place and 15 hours in another place and consider it a total of full time work?
3. Also wondering, is self employed work eligible under CEC at all?

I would appreciate your inputs in this regard. Thank you!!

I think so.

Not if it's in Canada.

I would appreciate your inputs in this regard. Thank you!!

you can use only one NOC for one year and 1560 hours for CEC you are eligible after one year on either A NOC or B NOC you cant combine both

I'm not an expert, but that doesn't sound right at all...

Thanks everyone for your replies :) So now I'm very sure self employed work experience is A no-no but splitting part time at two locations is okay.

And I should be okay to use both the Work exp irrespective of different NOCs. Still a bit of a debate it seems. I'd appreciate more reviews because I'm fairly new to this process and would like to understand it more.

Not sure what you mean "towards both the categories" - but, yes, You can combine work experience in different NOCs.

Yes - you can combine the hours of two simultaneous part-time jobs, for the equivalent of full-time work.

3. Also wondering, is self employed work eligible under CEC at all?
No.

There's no real debate about this, it's in black and white on the IRCC website.
