When you submit an express entry profile that time they provide you temporary UCI and verify your profile they will link your application with your old UIC.

Hi , I submitted my application and got AOR on 2nd April. I want to renew my passport now as I need to extend my work permit. Do we need the Original passport for giving the Biometrics ?

The short answer is it varies. Some get it in 2 months (check January 2021 AOR groups) while there are still applicants who submitted in April 2020 who are still waiting COPR. You can check immitracker website for trends in approvals.
