Hi All

1. Initially, I worked in canada from Nov-2008 to May-2009 for 7 months with Embedded Systems Software Designer (NOC 9990.2) in work permit

2. Again, started my work in canada from Jan-2010 to Dec-31-2010 for 12 months with Embedded Systems Software Designer (NOC 9990.2) in work permit

3. My current work permit active from Jan-2011 is showing Software Developer – Services in work permit.
(NOC 9990.5)

Query #1) Am i eligible to apply for PR in Canada as i have accumulated 24 months of work experience in the last 3 years?

Query #2) As i have different occupations on my work permit each time, what is the best NOC to be filled in my PR application

I am a software test engineer. NOC's 2173 and 2283 are showing the software tester role but these two falls in skill A and skill B respectively.

Query #3) Does the pay package depends on skill level that i am going to select in PR application

Please some one guide me in this aspect.

Thank you

1. Yes, you can apply under CEC.

2. You would list both the NOCs you have worked under. It could be 2173 or 2174 that you have been working under, at least according to your work permits.

3. Pay package? What do you mean?

I am referring pay package here to be as "Do my employer offer my annual salary depending the skill level i used in application as both the NOCs i discussed falls in different skill levels.

Does the application allows to enter 2 Noc's

Why, do you think you are underpaid for the kind of work that you do?

Some of the forms ask for your work history where they will allow you to fill out period, employer, hours per week and NOC. If some other form is asking for one NOC only, just put the last one. For CEC it doesn't matter, as long as they are all skilled.

Thank you for your reply Leon.

Referring the NOC list, i came to know the 2173 or 2283 codes for software testing.
But how can i figure out the NOC corresponding to Software Developer – Services in work permit (NOC 9990.5) that is present in my current active work permit.

software developer, NOC 2174 -
