Hey guys,

I'm finally getting around to sending in my application :) Hopefully April 30 is the day!

My post grad work permit is due to expire on Aug 30th,2013.

I just got offered a dream job(everything, and I mean everything is paid for) The issue is the company doesn't want to do LMOs as is it sponsorship and is a lot of work. Firstly I don't get it. From what i understood I should be exempted from the advertising portion which should make it easier. Why do companies say no to LMOs?

So the only hope I have is the bridging work permit. As I m sending my application on April 30th, do you think I could get the AOR by Aug 30th?
If I get it on Aug29th, from what i understand that if my application for the permit has been submitted, I can continue working on an implied status.

Save my soul! :)

It will be tight, but you should make it (if your application is complete the first time).

The word "sponsorship" should be banned, because it implies a level of responsibility that does not exist.

It is true that your employer would not have to demonstrate recruitment efforts. You could draft the LMO application for your company and show them how easy it is.

Hi jes_ON - this is very interesting. I have never heard of employers not having to demonstrate recruitment efforts. Would you by any chance be able to let me know some more situations/examples where the whole recruitment process is not necessary? Or can I find it somewhere online?

I was wondering that if I get hired for a new position amongst a bunch of Canadian candidates, this would automatically mean that I would be eligible for LMO? After all, I would have been offered the job even though Canadians applied for the position as well. Or is it not that easy? (as if anything immigration-wise would ever be "easy)

My current employer decided to drop the LMO application as they heard that it's basically impossible for junior/mid-level employees (regardless of NOC skill type A) to obtain a work permit this way. I have the feeling they just couldn't be bothered (I kind of hope that's the case for my sake), but please let me know if you have more insights. Thanks!!!

Recruitment efforts are not needed ONLY when it is a PG WP otherwise recruitment efforts have to be shown, it is a requirement. 14 day advertisement on JOB BANK (HRDC) as well on any other job specific website.
