Thanks Vinay Sharma!

My timeline is:

Application Date: 15th August, 2014
AOR Date: 4th December, 2014
Medical Request Date; 14th Jan, 2016

I guess you should be receiving the MR soon.

Hi Everyone,

As I mentioned above I have received my medical request from CIC today, but I had a question to everyone.
The next step after this is fees and passport request.

My passport is expiring in June, do they require the passport to be valid for atleast 6 months when they request the passport for something? My passport will be expiring in less than 5 months now and hence I am a bit worried.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Hanul

I would suggest you to renew your passport.

My passport was expiring in August 2016 and I have already got a new one just in case.

Better be safe then sorry.

Hi Hanul,

It better to renew your passport before you send it.

once renewed send an email to CIC including the copy of original passport and copy or renewal page/ New passport.

in case you get a new passport, attach it to the old passport and send both when CIC Requests it.

Again make sure you email CIC, so they know to expect the renewal doc. either new passport or renewal page

Yes the passport needs to be valid for more than 6 months. Its better to get it renewed now.

RCMP includes your finger prints.

Did you get your finger prints done when you went for your clearance ? If yes, then you do not need to worry about it.

In any case, don't worry as if RCMP was missing, you would have been requested by now. :) i did not submit it, and i was requested within a month of getting aor.

No Pearl1. I did not complete any finger prints for my Canadian PCC. Hence i thought RCMP and PCC are different.

Anyways, i haven't received any request from CIC since my AOR on 09 Feb 15. Hope things will change soon in favor of us

Wowowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww :) ;) :D ;D 8) 8) ;D :D ;) :)

As previously stated PCC is Police Clearance Certificates requested for every country you lived more than 6 months other than Canada.

RCMP and fingerprints COULD be requested at CIC discretion.

Some friend was requested for due his last name was too long for Canadian standards so could be improperly recorded in RCMP records so need fingerprints to full clearance

As far I understand CIC is in touch with RCMP for standard police clearance, when something looks weird CIC is requesting RCMP fingerprints.

I agree, RCMP is requested depending on individual case.

I have not been asked for one yet.
