Hello Everyone:

Although I already gave CBSA the consent to obtain my TRAVEL HISTORY, I also mailed in the (free) copy that I obtained on my own. I sent it in because I didn't have it at the time of the application and it arrived later. By this time I had already mailed in my medical history report that I obtained from the Canadian Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

I read here on this form someone saying NOT to mail your copy of the CBSA Travel History report.

Did I do a mistake? ???

No mistake here, however don't expect this to make your process any faster. CIC will have to run the check on their own to ensure veracity of the information you provided.

Re: CBSA Report Submitted to CIC

You're sending documents that you haven't been asked for, it might be viewed by CIC as a way to hide something.

Good luck anyway, if I were I'd just stick with the guidelines.

Re: CBSA Report Submitted to CIC

Already got a pre-test RQ which I mailed the documents within the same week in July 2013 (applied in March 2013). I never thought of obtaining the CBSA report until February 2014... however, I mailed it in later by July 2014.

Please advise if sending the CBSA report was a bad idea?

I hope that this isn't really keeping you up at night, because, seriously, it's fine. While following the instructions is a good general rule, sending one duplicate document is not going to hurt you. (CIC officer is not going to say: "Oh ho ho! Lookie here! A CBSA report! What are they trying to hide?!!") Is it going to help? Probably not, but who knows? Maybe they hadn't ordered the CBSA report themselves yet (in which case: CIC officer: "Thanks dude, that saved me the 10 seconds required to click the request box...")

In any case, this is no massive document dump of thousands of documents in order to overwhelm CIC and "hide something". Worst case scenario, the CIC officer sees that you sent one extra document and realizes that you are a human being.

You are allowed to be a human being. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
