Case type :27 (BOWP) Question

Hello Folks,

I did not apply for an open work permit but CIC sent a case type 27 work permit to me with only Job mentioned. In the conditions sections it does not say that I cannot change employer etc. There are only two conditions,
1. Must leave canada.
2. Cannot engage in schooling.

Question is, Can I change employers if the conditions does not state explicitly that I cannot.
My APR is pending when I submitted this application.

What exactly did you apply for?

In any case, it looks like the VO erred in your favor and gave you a BOWP. BOWPs can be issued with an employer's name or with out, but they are still open work permits.

It was with same employer. But they gave me Case type 27, with only thing mentioned on it Occupation: XXXYYY and location: Manitoba.

In conditions they only said must leave and cannot attend school until Authorized.

Remarks said:
APR pending, etc.

Duration 1 year.


I did not include the WP extension letter from PNP and requested the application be withdrawn, because i submitted an online application for bonded WP.
I got a two year bonded wp from online application and was surprised to find out the Case type: 27 work permit in mail box after a month.
I changed my employer based on that. But had same position.
