Hi,

I have just checked and found that so far 15 out of 300 applications for the category 2174 has been accepted.

As per my courier status, my application has reached CIC today i.e. 26th June 2013 morning for this category.

Could anyone tell what are my chances to get into the 300 mark ?

Thanks.

Chances are not great, but not impossible.

As per my opinion the status is as of 9th or 10th May. lets hope for well

Its not May 9th or 10th. Its May 4th update only. Check the footer below in the CIC official update link

1 The number of complete federal skilled worker applications received as of May 4, 2013 is an estimate.

This is why I think it would be helpful if there were 2 totals (someone else suggested this on another thread, can't remember who).
One total is the number of actual applications they've received. Even if the receive 100 per day it would take only a few mins to count and update these totals as received unopened apps.

Then another total of opened applications counting towards the cap.

If CIC say they have received 1000 applications for 2174, even if a % of these fail to completeness check it becomes obvious to people that the cap is going to be full, and stops wasting everyone's time, including CIC's.

You realize of course that FSW applications are not the only ones going through Sydney? They approved close to 62,000 applications last year, so I can't see them assigning someone to sort out the FSWs and make a count everyday.

hey.i dont understand how this google drive link of current noc cap means?

does it show the real time number of application received by cic?
are these the official nmbers given by cic or unofficial? please reply

Which is more time consuming do you think?
a) One person spending 5 to 10 minutes each day updating the count on the website
b) Dealing with hundreds of additional applications which are already over the cap, but keep pouring in because nobody at CIO is adequately communicating that to the applicants?

Answers on a postcard to...... :)

I think the best indication is to look here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0Aovj20uHVWyzdGFqSGJUOEtVX0h5eWM0cXB5dlAtOEE&f=true&noheader=false&gid=1

This is a compilation of applicants from this forum. We estimate this is probably around 2% to 5% of the worldwide total, but of course there's no way to know for sure exactly what % of the world total our forum members represent.

Anyway, as you can see 3211 is one of the less popular NOCs, with only 4 of our forum members applying in that NOC so far.

I would therefore guess that the worldwide total received by CIC is probably less than 100 in that particular NOC.

Unfortunately until CIC catch up with the present and the count on their website is still from May 4th, all we can really do is make sensible estimations.
