Hi guys,
heres my marriage story.
ok here we go
our story started on JANuary 16. my mum and her mum arranged the meeting. We talked for a while and i liked her. i have met so many girls before..of course my mum arranged it but this girl was different.
anyways i wanted to see her again so i asked my mum to arranged one more meeting on jan 18th..i went to see her in the morning..and i decided she was the one i was looking for.
we arranged the engagement party the next day and i asked for the marriage date soon cuz i didnt have much time. i had to get back to wrk and as well my brother. i had permission to extend the vacation from my manager but my brother didnt so we went for the jan 25.
now i extended my vacatin up to march 9th. we stayed together..enjoyed and i left on 9th march.
she didnt have her passport ready so we applied for it and god damn it took 4 months:) freaking india...its not india its the indians...always need take forever to do anything.
she jsut got her passport and i have paper wrk ready to send and i was looking for couple of answers and i found this beautiful website.
ok heres the sad story.
i cant live without her. i am missing her so much. i can literally kill my self...i dunt knw if guys cry for their wife but i did today..and i m not ashamed to say that cuz i luv her from bottom of my heart.
i came very close to book a flight and go back to india. then sumthing hit my mind...VISIT VISA

can she apply for a visit visa? how long wud it take? can i apply for PR once she arrive her?

now i already paid $1040 online.. can i use the same money later on when i apply for her PR?

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT I SHOUld do?
PLEASE?
i cant live without her. please sum1 help.
if i go back to india tomorrow.. CAN I APPLY FOR HER PR from india?
what are my choices?
thanx everyone for your time.

ok i have a question.
how much money wud i have to be making to sponsor my wife?
i make around 1700 a month before taxes? is it enuff?
thanx

There is no minimum income required for sponsoring a spouse, you just cannot be on welfare or an undischarged bankrupt.

If you are a PR yourself then you must be in Canada while her PR application is being processed. Luckily for you, New Delhi is a super-fast center and 70% applications are done in less than 4 months!

Well we are all missing our prince of princess so your not alone there. I have not seen my husband for 9 months so the pain of being without the one you love is very real to all of us. The immigration process is very difficult and if you have read much of the posts on here you will see various outcomes, some fast and wonderful and other disappointingly long and struggling, some a total disaster.

My question is are you married to her? If you are then chances are she wont get a visitor visa. If your married they will think that she will not go back to india before her visitor visa expires. You might be lucky and she get it, but to be honest the odds are against you on a visitor visa. I could be wrong and if I am hopefully someone will say other wise. If she did get a visitor visa you can apply for sponsorship. The process is much faster if she is in India rather than in Canada. There is also a draw back to doing the process while she is in Canada. In the event her PR application is rejected there is NO appeal process. If she is home in India then if her PR application is rejected then you can appeal the decision.

If you are able to prove to the officer that your marriage is genuine and not for immigration purposes and if they waive the interview then the process will be fairly quickly.

hope this helps

Just to clarify - as long as you are married, you can apply right now for her permanent status. It's not likely she will get a visitor visa for the reasons that boyee6576 already stated. By virtue of having a partner in Canada, and intending to apply for permanent status, she cannot prove that she only intends to stay temporarily, and that's enough for them to refuse her a visitor visa. You wouldn't want to bring her to Canada and apply via the inland process anyway - it's much longer, there's no right of appeal, she can't leave during the whole process (12-18 months) and she won't be eligible as anything but a visitor for at least the first 7-8 months. New Delhi is processing spousal aps in 2-6 months, plus another 45 days or so for your part of the application to be assessed first at the Case Processing Center in Mississauga before it's transferred overseas.

thanx everyone..it make sence..they wudnt give her visit visa..
ok well..im all ready and about to sent out the application. im sure canada post is close by now so hopefully tomorrow.
but wat i need to know is
i have put a littel note stating how much we miss eachother..and some other important points...for example..i have no prrof of emails since she do not have an access to a pc..
and other thing i wanted to knw was..
can i write SPOUSE APPLICATION on the front of the envelope.
can i drop off the application personally? im in toronto..not too far from missisauga.
thanx everyone for ur help.

Answers..
yes i am married to her. got married on jan 25 2010, and i am a canadian citizen.

Since you are in fact a canadian citizen, you can live with your princess in india and apply the sponsorship outland. the prince and princess can live happily ever after first in india and then in canada!

True what steaky said! I like the way you worded it =) . Small advice, jus putting in my 2 cents - The sponsor has to prove ties to Canada, eg: Job, Apt lease, Family, etc. if app is outland and the sponsor is not in Canada. MY sponsor (Wife) stayed with me the entire time our application was in process after getting married and unfortunately, our app. got rejected eventually. Reason being, the IO was convinced that the Sponsor will not go back to Canada once PR is granted to the Applicant... She went back and has applied again!

Xyrus is right about the sponsor has to prove ties to Canada. When I was the sponsor, I didn't provide any job offers, apartment lease, family information to the visa office, but still the IO convinced that I will go back to Canada once PR is granted to the Applicant. I think you (the sponsor) just have to write a convincing explanation of your marriage is genuine and your intentions of how you going to set up a new life in Canada with your spouse.

True that! my sponsor spent a lot of years out of the country and completed most of her education in a foreign country too, both school and under grad! Maybe that was a factor.... There was no question on our marriage/relationship being fake as we submitted mountains of proofs!! =) The only problem was that we were not able to convince the IO about our future plans in terms of starting a new life there... we even requested an interview to explain but it was not allowed... funny how ppl dread an interview where as we insisted on it! I submitted correspondence with headhunters, realtors for apt. rental, etc. but in vain!! :(

I don't think that your sponsor spent a lot of years out of the country and completed most of her education in a foreign country too, both school and under grad was a factor. I, too, spent a lot of years out of the country and completed half of my education in foreign country. No big issue.

Either way, keeping our fingers crossed in our 2nd attempt! My wife's got a job there and took up an apt. on rent. We submitted lease doc & her pay stubs/ offer letter as proof. Could you share some details about ur convincing explanation? Im wondering what could've possibly gone wrong in our first attempt! Im stumped!
