I was a PR when I submitted my "interest to sponsor" form. Now I am a citizen.
In the pgp application, I uploaded BOTH PR and Canadian passport as Proof of Status.

It says in the guide that if you provide passport, ircc *may* still request the citizenship certificate during processing.

I want to know if this has happened to anyone.

I lost my citizenship certificate and dont want to apply for a new one if they don't end up asking for it. So, I'm looking to see if anyone submitted their Canadian passport only as proof of status.

Usually the passport is enough. As in, I don't recall anyone being asked to provide the citizenship certificate if they provided a copy of passport.

Also note: if they do ask for the certificate, it's possible a photocopy or scan will be enough.

That said: don't be silly, order a certificate, you should have it just in case. Depending on circumstances you can apply online and shouldn't take long (I think it's quite likely you can apply online since you became a citizen recently). https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...dian-citizenship/proof-citizenship/apply.html
