Cancelled Passport, TRV Still Valid

Hello, my friend's TRV is stamped on her passport and both are valid until 2031. However, due to some circumstances, she plans to already renew her passport, which would render the old one invalid. Would her TRV still be valid until 2031, or does it also become invalid?

A Valid TRV on Old passport remain valid but she need to show both old and new passport upon landing in Canada if she travel outside Canada and come back
