Canadian work experience with IEC (open visa) What LIMA option to select?

I have been in working in Canada for over a year on an International Experience Canada (IEC) visa, which is an open working holiday visa. I have been working as a casual employer for CTV Television Network in my selected NOC and have done over 30 hours a week for over a year.

I am still working there with no real guarantee of continuing work but I have provably done my 1560 hours. I am employed and at this point do over 30 hours a week. Do I have a job offer? If not there is no where for me to fill in my Canadian work experience.

Because I'm on a open work visa i'm exempt from an LIMA (Labour Impact Market Assessment) Which accrording to the offical website qualifies under the 'certain other cases' that don't need a LIMA for express entry points to count.

3. exempt for “Canadian interests” reasons:
a. “significant benefit” – if your employer can prove you will bring an important social, cultural, and/or economic benefit to Canada. This can include:
ii. International Experience Canada – a work abroad program for youth and young professionals

So when it comes to answering the Canadian experience questions I'm not sure what to put for 12.

"no"
8. Are you currently working in Canada?
"yes"
9. Do you have a valid work permit for the current job in Canada?
"yes"
10. Is your job offer from the employer named on the current work permit?
"yes"
11. Have you been working full-time for the employer on their current work permit for at least one year?
"yes"
12. Was a positive LMIA issued for the current work permit?

"No"

"No - my work permit is exempt from an LMIA due to international agreement"

"No - my work permit is exempt from an LMIA for other reasons and is employer-specific"

It doesn't have an IEC/Canadian interests option.

Answer to question #12 is no - due to an international agreement.

Answer to question #10 is no as well (not yes) since you are in Canada on an IEC which is an open work permit.

Thanks! Yes you are right about question#10, I did have it filled out that way on the actual form, my mistake.

So am I right in saying I have a job offer? Is there no other way of entering you Canadian work experience? What if I lost that job but still had that 1 year of experience. When I filled out the initial points calculator/are you eligible. I said I did not have an offer but I did have the years experience and It said I would make the points I was after.

Your job offer won't get you any points under express entry. You need an approved LMIA to get job offer points.

OK so just to clarify...

I was not depending on that as a job offer. So am assuming the job offer counts for 'CRS - Arranged Employment' points.

I was depending on my 'CRS - Human Capital - Canadian Work Experience' points.

How do I get my year of experience to count to my points?

I put it in my work history and it didn't add anything. The only way you can add work details to intended work in Canada is if say you have a job offer. Is it correct that I am saying yes and filling in the rest? (Not expecting points for the offer just the experience)

You do not have a "valid job offer" - there are specific criteria that need to be met. Since your work permit does not have your employer named on it, you would need 2 things for it to be a "valid job offer" - an LMIA to support the PR application, and a written offer of full-time employment for at least one year after you become a PR.

Not sure where the error is occurring, but if you have a full calendar year of full-time employment (defined as at least 30 hours of work per week), then you should get points for the Canadian experience. There are 2 questions at the end of a Canadian work experience entry that must be answered correct to get the points - check those (one asks if you were a student during this time - "no" is the correct answer, and the other asks if your work was authorized (you had a valid work permit the entire time), and you have to say "yes."
