My name is Marife and I live and work in Manila Philippines. I want to apply for a 3 week tourist visa to visit a friend who lives in Canada.

I want to visit this December 3 to December 22. When should I apply for the Visa? Is one month before enough time? I wasn't sure of how long this would take to get this visa.

Thank you

i suggest for your trip to be in dec... you apply straight away... they r taking a lot of time...ive applied since two months now and still no response...not even on emails

It says here:

cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/visitors.asp#asia

that the time is around 14 days for the Philippines. Is this not accurate?

I am a pakistani visiting the US. hence applied to the newyork embassy on the 23rd of July... it says 14 days for new york but till date i have no information on my application. What annoys the most is they r not even replying to emails...not a single response

You are trying to get a US Visa. I am trying to get a Canadian Visa so it is not the same.

I already have a US visa on which i am currently in the US (visiting). I have applied for a canadian TRV visa from here in the New york embassy and its been 49 days and still i have no information on the application whereas the site says 14 days.

Hi! When my family and I applied for our multiple entry TRVs earlier this year, it took us around two weeks. Medyo mabilis sa Manila at that time, ewan ko lang ngayon.

Thank you for all your help.

I have been reading today about so many people getting denied a visitor visa into Canada that I am a bit discouraged. What makes me think I will be approved since I wasn't approved for a US Visa 2 months ago? Here is a bit about me:

-I am a 35 year old single female
-own a condo
-have all my family living in the Philippines
-have a bachelor's degree
-have a decent job as an industrial engineer at a major hospital
-have worked in my field for 15 years and have been on the present job for 5 years
-have a letter from my employer saying that I was granted a 3 week vacation
-have money in the bank around $6,000 USD
-have traveled outside the Philippines on trips to other Asian countries in the past
-all my family live in the Philippines

Is this good enough or do I need to show more? I just don't want to apply if I am only going to be denied.
