Canadian Taxation after Soft Landing

Just out of curiosity, If, say my CoPR is issued and at some point after the pandemic I decide to do a soft landing, do I immediately start having to pay Canadian taxes on my global income?

You need to establish residency ties first.

Not unless you establish ties so would not open any accounts, buy property, have dependents live in Canada, etc.

I don't think buying commercial property would establish ties.
