Canadian Student, Can I Sponsor? [Low in Come]

I am a Canadian Student (Citizen) and living in Canada. Got Married this year. My wife is living in another country and I want her to come to Canada.
Do I need a Financial Evaluation (IMM 1283)? Or Not? [Keep in mind that I am a student, so its low income ]

You will have to send in info about your earnings (and the taxes you filed via Option C printout), so your income won't be a secret. You will also have to explain how you plan to support yourselves on this low income (you can say loans, family help, etc.)

But there is certain amount of money you have to make in order to sponsor just your wife. As long as you have a plan to support yourselves and can convince the VO that you won't go on welfare (if your spouse does, you will have to pay it back).. then they will likely approve you as a sponsor.
