That is a different thing and not related to Express Entry. It is in parliament with respect to Citizenship.

In fact they used that term "immigration..." when they talk about Citizenship, which you would have notice in McCallum's speech because afterwards he said how: by restoring the credit spent as student...

Most of international students were facing big problems to become PR through CEC and their words were to reduce barriers for international students on immigration that means to make them stay for a long period in Canada.

McCallum was clear in saying that additional points will be awarded and has been awarded to resolve this issue.

What's more?

CEC was considered the stream with least barriers by lawyers as only 4 things were required as proof: Education, Canadian Work Experience (lots of points awarded), Language and Medicals. No proof of funds, police certificate, etc...are required as it is the case under another stream.

The rule has been eased by awarding bonus points.

What do you think they can do more?

One thing I want make clear about additional points. As per our CRS calculator, additional points means 600 (for PNP and Job). At the time of election campaigning, it was clearly mentioned that additional points would be awarded and that meant 600 points. Later on, after realizing the promise given by Trudeau, the international students also demanded additional point (which also meant 600). Slowly and gradually when time passed the meaning of additional points got changed. Few asked for 100 additional points, few said 50 additional points, so the whole point of using the terminology of awarding addtional points got new meaning. But you will always realize that the minister never used additional points for other categories except siblings, because he knows the technicality of that word. Time will unfold everything. You keep posting here and don't give up.

And this is not a matter of joke as its minister's plan and priority not our priority(siblings). If they were intended to remove that point from CIC they could have done it early before,no need of mentioning that on family reunification objectives.

They have only stated "greater access" to siblings and "additional points" is only mentioned by Trudeau in his mandate letter as Mccallum can change style: not on giving points but another pathway. Trudeau himself says in his election campaign "greater access" to siblings and liberals plan says that a special review of the concern is made and a separate method is adopted to reduce processing time.

"IRCC will explore options to use the Express Entry system to provide more opportunities for applicants who have Canadian siblings."

No statement of "points"

It seems there's still some hope for aspirants with siblings in Canada. There's a press release saying that there would be further changes in the EE system. Fingers crossed.

Siblings case falls under family reunification. Because one may have 350 points , another may have 440 points so giving 100 points will make only one person qualify to get ITA, probably family members may have to use family reunification system where another window with some conditions most probably. They mentioned all siblings not siblings above any particular point.

i dont think they mix express entry with the family sponsorship program. It is better to use pnp .

there are provinces already with family support stream. Like manitoba and SK. It would be a fair system and it would create negatives responses.
