Canadian Passport in person timeline

Does the date for the flight matter or can we just pay and request express service? Thinking of preponing my trip due to work.

The flight ticket is the most important thing, because the officer gives you the passport depending on the date of travel.

the date matter, they look at the date to issue the service. I was only allowed to pay extra to pick up in person to save mailing time.

Did you try requesting express pick up?

Are any of the Passport Office/Service Canada in Ontario still accepting walk-in applications without appointment?

i just heard from a member of FB group.
She went to Hamilton office few days ago. And they refused walk-in.

Submitted my passport today morning, Brampton location no appointment but had Air ticket booked for 11 March which is within 25 business day.

• Citizenship certificate received February 14, 2022
• Passport application submitted February 17, 2022
• Passport pickup scheduled for February 21, 2022

Paid 50$ for express service.

I send passport documents via canada post. Online tracker saying that its delivery pending but today i contacted them and asked then they said it was delivered a day ago but as we deliver in bundle (with other ), its not necessary that canada post tracker update accordingly. Status may never update but 100% sure that document has delivered.

Anyone else has the same experience? or should i give passport office a call for the updates? suggestions?

In the application it says the date of travel with either a specific date or unknown. If I want to travel April 1st for example, is it necessary to put it in the application, since it is more than 25 business days away?

This is strange! What's the point of tracking a package if it's not updated on the system and the sender knows it was delivered. It's like Seinfeld scene with the reservation of the rental car. Did you send it express or another option?

Yes i did use XpressPost with Priority tag but still. But i have just talked and they said its 100% delivered and with Passport Office.

I was wondering if someone else has faced the same issue?

I don’t think she is bluffing though.
I went to Toronto passport office. And they took my flight ticket (not return it back to me)

I mean the "bluffing" part is when she said, the ticket has to be purchased/issued before they set an appointment with me over the phone. I know, tickets are must now and they are checking flight tickets at the office. Even keeping them as you said but we should be still able to purchase it a day or 2 before appointment and show them there? This gives us chance to buy a refundable or cancelable ticket.

I don't think date of purchase matters because you might end planning based on when you get an appointment. The lady who called me asked "Do you have a travel date?" That's it. Also things change. They cannot refuse a citizen passport service based on when they finalized travel plan.
