Hi All,

I'll be sitting for the english language CLB test in a few days and would like to know more about the exam,if anyone in the forum has gone through this experience before - i'd be grateful if i can find answers to the below:

how many question in the writing test? how it will be?
the speaking test is the same given in the ielts speaking test?

I've done IELTS before - but somehow it seems the CLB is different so i'm trying to gather info - so as to know what to expect. Any tips would also be useful,

thanks to all

Check out the below blog with very comprehensive overview of CLB test:

When I took the CLB test, my impression was as follows:

- CLB is slightly difficult compared to IELTS as the grading is more subjective on the part of the examiner.
- There is no separate speaking test. The examiner makes an assessment based on his overall interaction with you from the moment you greet him/her.
- The listening test is more difficult compared to IELTS as you cannot take any notes while listening to the conversations and you have to completely reply on your memory to reply to questions.
