Canadian Citizenship Application while Indian passport expiring

Hi All
I have to apply for Canadian citizenship for me and my family in July 2019. But my indian passport is expiring in December 2020 which is 6 months from now. Should I get my renewed passport from BLS and then apply for citizenship or can I just go ahead and apply for citizenship now. Please Guide

1. If you don't intend to travel anywhere between now and when you receive your Citizenship, you don't need to renew your passport. Your decision though.
