Canada Vistor Visa taking longer time

I submitted my canadian vistor visa online on 10/31/2017 and didn't receive any confirmation yet. Does it take this long for reviewing the documents submitted online? As per my understanding it takes maximum 4-6 weeks to get it approved with Stamped Visa. Anyone have an idea what to do in this situation as I have to travel to Canada on 1st week of Feb, 2018 for my US Consulate interview? Shall I withdraw my current application and submit In-Person at Visa Application Center in New York, USA?

No - it's not a maximum 4-6 weeks to be approved. It's quite possible for processing to take several months.

Thank you. Looks like there is no way to contact canada embassy directly for checking the status. So in this case what should I do? Is that recommended to withdraw current application and submit again?

You have plenty of time. Don't panic.

Withdrawing your current application may/may not be allowed by the visa office + it could take even up to 8 weeks for the current file to be closed in case the VO allows you to withdraw your application

Do send a Case Specific Enquiry/IRCC web form + an email to the relevant visa office.... and request for an expedited decision
