Hello,

I am a Canadian citizen and the father of a young child who is a US citizen, her mother (who is not my legal wife) passed away more than a year ago, since she has no other family to live with in the US she was brought by her mothers friend to Canada to be with me ,since then the child is living and attending elementary school here with me in Canada for about a year now.

My question(s) are...we are planning to attend a relatives wedding in the US in the coming month, what kind of immigration questions i / we may encounter at the US border and back to Canada.

Documents i / we have:

: She is using her mothers family name in her US passport

: Only her mothers name show on her US birth certificate

: My name and her mothers name are shown on her Baptismal Certificate

: Her mothers Death Certificate

: I have a document issued by the county (County Child Support Services) where she formerly lived showing that i am
her father.

Thank you so much for all your response i will really, really appreciate it....DJ

No problem. You might want to consider looking into get the birth certificate changed to include your name. I don't know how this would be done but it wouldn't hurt to look into it.

The OP really should be applying for proof of citizenship for the child.
