Hi everyone,
I’m filling out the online application for a Canada Super Visa for my parents. In the family details section, I’m asked to provide the dates of birth of my parents’ parents (my grandparents).
Unfortunately, I don’t know my grandparents’ exact dates of birth. The online application provides an “Unknown” option.
I found this official IRCC guidance:
https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1543&top=14
The guidance mentions using 1900 for an unknown year and 01 for an unknown month or day, along with a letter of explanation.
My questions are:
Should I select “Unknown” in the online application, since this option is available?
Or should I enter 1900/01 as instructed by IRCC and provide a letter of explanation?
Has anyone recently submitted a Super Visa application in a similar situation? Which option did you use, and was your application processed without any issues?
I want to ensure that I complete the application correctly and avoid unnecessary delays.
Thanks in advance for your help!
