Hi All,

I'm writing this information to help other potential candidates searching for information all over the internet. My brief profile as below:

10+2 - 2003 - 72%
Bachelor of Commerce - 2006 - 64%
Chartered Accountant - 2009 - All First Attempt
CA Articleship Training - 2006-2009
Job in Private sector company in India handling International Business - 2009-till date
No gaps at all

Applied for 1 Year Global Business Management in Ontario
IELTS Academic - Overall 7.5
Financial Condition - Relatively good
Family - Parents Retired, Wife and a Son

Applied to College - October 16 2019 for May 2020 Intake
Offer Letter Received - October 21 2019
Paid full One year fee and also opened GIC - November 30 2019
Applied for VISA - December 7th 2019
VISA APPROVAL NOTIFICATION - December 20th 2019
Submission for Stamping - December 24th 2019

My Advice and Tips to potential candidates:

1. Never loose hope. Age is just a number. You will get Visa if you can prove that you are a genuine student
2. Strong SOP/Study Plan - This is the Key and most important factor in this process. I have drafted SOP on my own and also got reviewed by few others to make sure it looks good.
3. Do not keep any points open for the Visa officer. You have to cover each and everything in SOP. If Visa officer have a question, then there are chances of rejection
4. Always opt for courses which are next level. Do not select a Diploma course, if you already have a Bachelors. It will be a straight forward rejection by VO.
5. Show a career progression in SOP. How this course will benefit you after returning to your home country and what is that one thing which differentiates the courses available in your home country Vs Canada. This is very important.
6. Attach a Chartered Accountant Certificate along with the application, showing the assets held by you and your family back in your home country. This will give a satisfaction to VO that you will return after your studies.

Happy to help in case anyone has any questions and best of luck for your applications

Regards,
Hi vivek2020

I am currently working on my sop. I just wanted to know how the sop should be written. I searched the internet but couldn't find a concrete answer.
1. How many words should there be in the sop?
2. Should I write it as a letter addressed to the VO?
3. Should it be written in an essay format or should it be written with subheadings?

Thank you

I am almost in similar profile like you and planning to apply for SP. can you plz let me know a few thing stated below?

1. you said don't go for diploma if u have bachelor. I get 1 year sabbatical leave from my employer ( multinational bank) so I don't find any other option than 1 years PGD course. what is your view on this. is a weakness for SP approval?

2. Did you apply with your family members or you just applied for yourself?

3. if you don't mind, how much CAD in cash and property value you had to showe?

thanks in advance.

Clearly state in your sop that you have got one year leave and this course will improve your job position.
Applied for myself
As per my consultancy firm, 60 lakhs of immovable and 15 lakhs of movable assets are minimum.

Hi,

There is no specific format for SOP. It depends on person to person. Ideally it should not be more than 2 pages and split into relevant paragraphs and crisp and to the point. you can bold or underline the highlights where you need VO to focus. No need to write like a letter addressing VO and no subheadings as well.

Cheers,

Hi,

I guess any PG courses should be fine. I was talking about basic diploma not PG diploma. 1 year sabbatical should be a strong point in your SOP as this gives VO a confidence that you will return after your studies. I applied only for me. I showed approx 1 Cr in funds both movable and immovable.

My suggestion is not to apply for whole family. There are high chances that Visa will be denied. especially the fact that you have 2 kids to manage.

thanks vivek. I'm worried at this point. given that i get my SP only for me, Will I be able to manage them during my studentship or even after 1 year when I'm on PGWP.. a bit worried on this point.

btw, i can show similar asset value but I have almost equal loan. my agent suggesting not to declare loan. what is your view on this..
