Applied for VISA - December 7th 2019
VISA APPROVAL NOTIFICATION - December 20th 2019
Submission for Stamping - December 24th 2019

My Advice and Tips to potential candidates:

1. Never loose hope. Age is just a number. You will get Visa if you can prove that you are a genuine student
2. Strong SOP/Study Plan - This is the Key and most important factor in this process. I have drafted SOP on my own and also got reviewed by few others to make sure it looks good.
3. Do not keep any points open for the Visa officer. You have to cover each and everything in SOP. If Visa officer have a question, then there are chances of rejection
4. Always opt for courses which are next level. Do not select a Diploma course, if you already have a Bachelors. It will be a straight forward rejection by VO.
5. Show a career progression in SOP. How this course will benefit you after returning to your home country and what is that one thing which differentiates the courses available in your home country Vs Canada. This is very important.
6. Attach a Chartered Accountant Certificate along with the application, showing the assets held by you and your family back in your home country. This will give a satisfaction to VO that you will return after your studies.

Happy to help in case anyone has any questions and best of luck for your applications

Regards,

No. GIC has to be opened in a Canadian Bank using the funds from our own bank account in India (No one can sponsor you for GIC). Please note that the Name and Address in Indian Bank Account, passport and the GIC account should all be same , otherwise the funds will be returned. You can open GIC account in either Scotia Bank, CIBC or ICICI Canada. I would suggest CIBC. Cheers

PLS CHECK MY SOP I GOT REJECTION ON BASIS OF PURPOSE OF VISIT. Have reapplied on 24th decemeber for jan intake.

NEW SOP

The Visa Officer,
Canadian Consulate General,

Sub: Re-Application Request
Dear Sir/Ma`am,

I am writing this letter to request your kind re-consideration of my student visa application and Application No. . I, X had previously put my student visa application for Canada, the Y University for January 2020 intake. However, my student visa application was declined due to the following reason listed in the visa refusal letter:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

After completion of my studies in Canada, I will definitely come back to my home country India. My only intention for travel is to study in Canada. I would like to stay in Canada for the entire study period of 1 year. Kindly note, I have enough funds to pursue my studies in Canada. I have no intention of residing there or working there. As that would be a violation of the terms of my visa, this application is purely to study abroad and only to enhance my career prospects in my home country India. No matter how high someone reaches, they should never forget their roots; I have a strong feeling of true nationalism and responsibility that an individual has to bear towards building a nation, giving back to the society and becoming a responsible, skilled and resourceful member in my own country. This will also motivate me to work vigorously towards completing all my educational dreams with excellence to return to unite with them. And with the international and globally accredited Post graduate certificate from Y University, it will not be a difficult task for me to help my father business. My family is well-settled so; I will definitely come back to my homeland. The process of learning commenced right when I saw my father successfully running his own business venture, all of which later made me pursue my high school education in the same field. I believe the love for business runs in my veins and I have been further blessed to have the support of my parents to follow my passion. My parents have consistently supported me in all my academic choices and have also ensured to provide me with adequate resources.

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

I have paid my tuition fee of CAD 15,199 and have transferred 10,000 CAD to my Scotia Bank a/c for the purchase of GIC to cover my living cost for the first year. Also, we have the savings of CAD - and immovable assets of CAD -. I would like to state that I understand the responsibilities of a Canadian study permit holder and a student. My intentions are to complete my postgraduate program, and then leave the country as per the requirements of the study permit. I would never engage in anything that is against the conditions of my study permit. My visit to Canada will solely be for acquiring higher education. I understand that I did not provide this much information which could have led to the refusal of my application. I hope that this explanation satisfies you.

My father is a self-employed and his annual income is CAD - whereas my mother is self-employed and her annual income is CAD - So my family is financially strong enough to bear all my expenses. I am the only son of my parents and it is my responsibility to take care of my parents when I will complete my studies in Canada. Also, I will be the one who will take care of the property and assets we have in India.

Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of your qualifications, previous employment, level of establishment, or your future prospects and plans.

My qualifications:As far as my academics are concern, I have done my matriculation and senior secondary (commerce) from - falling under the central board of secondary education in 2014 and 2016 with 9.2 CGPA and 94.2%. Afterward, I have completed my Bachelor of Commerce from - under Panjab University and I finished the same in 2019 with 74.83%. I appeared for IELTS and scored 7.5 bands overall with 8.5 in listening, 7.5 in reading, 6.0 in writing and 7.0 in speaking modules.

I have chosen Post Graduate Certificate in accounting because Accounting has got a very wide scope and area of application. Its use is not confined to the business world alone, but spread over in all the spheres of the society and in all professions. Now-a-days, in any social institution or professional activity, whether that is profit earning or not, financial transactions take place. So there arises the need for recording and summarizing these transactions when they occur and the necessity of finding out the net result of the same after the expiry of a certain fixed period. Only accounting use can help overcome these problems. As we know, ‘Accounting is the language of business’ and one must know the art of accounting to ensure successful and profitable running of business. That is why I want to gain more expertise in the field of accounting and applied for Post-Graduate Certificate in Accounting at Y University. Moreover, the short duration of course i.e. 8 months will assure I do not leave my family for a longer time and also gain the most out of these eight months.
I am highly confident that the course I have chosen will help me gain a better insight into business and accounting. The educational and eclectic environment of the university will not only inculcate the skills of financial accounting and business communication but will also teach me about great leadership and management skills. All these skills and knowledge will help me to further enlarge my father's business.
My strength has always been in numbers, and in getting things done on time and up to the highest standards. I can say that accounting is even something that I “dearly love” and I am very good at, and that I can build a good career around. I decided to go with my strengths. I am familiar with advanced accounting, management accounting, cost accounting, principles of financial accounting as I studied few of them during my graduate studies while I used to keep gathering information on other accounting subjects as well. I was always curious about learning accounting and calculations. Hence, I have decided to obtain an international education and experience highly qualitative education to pursue my knowledge in the field of Accounting. The Post-Graduate Certificate in Accounting offered by Y University will deepen my understanding of accounting while simultaneously sharpening my critical thinking, communication, and management skills.

Future prospects: As far as my future plans are concerned, I hope to acquire the expertise in accounting that will enable me to work as a professional in multinational corporations in India. I hope to develop the language skills, leadership and organizational abilities, cultural understanding and professional expertise that will make me an effective and successful Accountant. After completion of this program, I plan to return to native country and work with my father so that I will be capable for dealing with a broad range of people, companies, and financial situations. Accounting at Y University will enable me to achieve the goals I have set for myself. In this way, I hope to add to the general development of my country’s economy and become a leading professional in my field.
Coming to the selection of Y University, it is highly ranked for its diversity and inclusion. Every student speaks highly of the in-depth and modern technology used in the campus to facilitate learning among the students. School of Continuing Studies at Y University is one of a kind that imparts both theoretical and practical knowledge among the students. I am sure that all these top-notch educational facilities at Y, will shape me into a better businessman.
In my view, acquiring knowledge of accounting will not only be extremely useful, but also personally rewarding and enjoyable. It is a fascinating area of study and one that I will certainly be able to apply to my future work. I am well-prepared to face the challenge of studying in Y university, and I have the determination to realise my goals and complete my studies successfully. After completion of my studies at the university, I plan to come back to my home country and live amongst the people I grew up with. I have a true feeling of nationalism and wish to flow my business in all corners of INDIA. Also, I am deeply knitted to the love of my family. Hence, I plan to return back and continue my career here in India.
My father runs an age-old well-settled business in my hometown. My prime aim to opt for the course is to gain adequate knowledge and skills to further expand my family-run business and operate it in a better and more efficient manner. I intend to make the best use of my knowledge to prosper my business in India.
The rich heritage and cultural diversity offered by the esteemed university would help broaden my exposure and also enhance my personality. The highly competitive and intellectually stimulating atmosphere at this university will bring out the best in me.
Knowledge with dedication is highly essential to climb the ladder and reach the pinnacle of success. I am sure, the quality of knowledge and impeccable guidance will mould me to be in the learning mode all my life opening the way for constant growth as a person and a professional.

Along with this application, I am attaching all the important documents for your reference. I hope I have successfully explained my career goals. I will be looking forward to the positive revert from your side.

With regards,
X

@pkakapoor, your SOP is very weak, there are lot of unnecessary stuff in there, nobody cares to read this entire story. SOP should be crisp and to the point. My question is why you want to to a PG in accounting in Canada, what is different from courses in India? How does it makes you different from others in India once you completes this and are you working somewhere, if so, does this PG will give a career progression in the company? you have to answer all these questions in SOP

What if someone doesn't have a substantial property as an asset, is there a back door for this?
Or do the VO verify ur landed property too?
Atleast try to show your parents property. There are no back doors my friend. Always use genuine docments. VO wont verify landed property. So if you can get it certified by a CA , VO would rely on that
