hello everyone.
yesterday CIC london emailed me and asked me to send them the orignal long form birth certificate of my son,
nw problem is she my son was born, my wife filled that birth form and those people (certificate issuing authority) told her not to mention the father's name as he is not present in canada, when he will reach canada he can change the form then, after this email my wife talked to those people and they said we have to do amendment to the form, procedure will be:
1 they will post those forms to my wife which will take 2 3 weeks to reach her,
2 then my wife will fill them and post them to me ( in Pakistan ) which will take 1 week.
3 i will sign them and post them back which will take another 1 week.
4 when my wife submits the forms, those people said it will take 6-8 weeks to process the whole thing.

now problem is this whole thing is taking more than 2 months and london gave me 30 days to submit.

here are my questions:

1 can my wife apple on urgent basis, if yes then how much time it will take?
2 can we do this: my wife scan those forms email them to me and i take a print, sign them, and send them back in email, then she can submit that printed form? that way we will safe alot of time.

3 If 1 and 2 are not possible then what should i tell CIC london??

kindly let me know as soon as possible.

1. Doubt it that will speed it up.
2. Whoever gave your wife the advice not to put the father's name on the birth certificate, just "opened a can of worms" for you.
3. You can expect at least a request for DNA testing for you and the baby to see if you are the father.

1. It won't be speedier than their rush service.
2. Yes, CIC can and does request DNA tests where parentage is in doubt. From OP 1

5.9. DNA test for relationship
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) accepts DNA test results as proof of parent/child and sibling relationships. The test compares DNA profiles extracted from genetic material taken from persons claiming to be father, mother, children or siblings.
5.10. When is a DNA test appropriate?
A DNA test to prove relationship is a last resort. When documentary submissions are not satisfactory evidence of a bona fide relationship, officers may advise applicants that positive results of DNA tests by a laboratory listed in Appendix E are an acceptable substitute for documents.
