Can you still be a student after applying for PGWP? Or does applying for PGWP invalidate your current study permit

Hello everyone, I finished my master studies on 12.31 2021 and I am currently enrolled in my phd program. Does applying for PGWP invalidate the current study permit that I hold for my PhD program? Thank you.

Hi, I'm not sure that by applying to PGWP your PhD programm will be invalidated. It would be ridiculous to invalidate your whole study just because of that . However, I'm not too sure about that. Perhaps you may be able to find the information at https://iunajaf.edu.iq/en/ There're plenty of college students who post hundreds questions there all the time. I do remember vaguely having seen a similar question to yours somewhere on that website. Hope that I've managed to help. Good luck!

1. The work permit will state on it "not allowed to take academic studies" or something similar.

You have ti decide whether yiu want to continue with your PhD or work. You can only receice a PGWP once so you need to apply wisely. If 6ou want to continue your PhD you need to withdraw your PGWP application asap.
