My family are Iranian. They have a visitor visa and have visited me in Canada twice over the past two years. They have a return ticket for 3 months after their arrival. I am worried that they won't be admitted ti Canada because the officer would suspect that they won't be able to go back. Can they refuse to let them in? Does anyone have a similar experience?

Please tell me where to post this if this is not the right subreddit. thanks.

Technically they could be refused entry/returned (officers always have the power to do this), they rarely do this for those who have visitor visas. Especially those who have visited before and 'clean.'

I don't know circumstances in which they might - it would generally only be if there's clear obvious evidence they're doing something not consistent with visiting or clearly changed (or criminality or things like that of course). Think, someone arriving with what turns out to be a suitcase of all worldly goods and valuables and large amounts of cash and docs about moving to Canada and never returning.
