Can we visit using a Tourist Visa, before we do our official Landing with IM1 Visa

Hello Forum,

Me and my wife recently received our COPR. We have a TOURIST VISA for Canada as well.

Question:
Can we visit Canada (Vancouver) using a Tourist Visa, before we do our official 'Landing' using the IM - 1 Visa?

Our last date for Landing is Dec 2 2018, but we want to visit Vancouver before that in the Summer since we live nearby in Seattle.

Can we visit Vancouver on a Tourist Visa, and not do the official Landing?
Or Will our 'tourist visit' automatically be considered as a Landing.

For sure you can. Did that myself.
Infact, the TRV stays valid even after you do your landing procedure on IM1. (Heard the officer struk it off for some people when they did their landing, but they told me that I can return back on this until my PR card arrives... as they say...different folks, different strokes)
