So I am trying to pay fees online but am unsure about something. I am applying to sponsor my husband outland. I choose Mississauga, ON as the processing centre, choose Immigration as the type of fee, then it says:

Payment of Immigration Fees
Immigration Applications for Persons in Canada
Right of Permanant Residence Fee $490
Family Class
- Sponsorship Application $75
- Principal Applicant $475

Spouse and Common-Law Partner in Canada Class
-Sponsorship Application $75
- Principal Applicant $475

Which do I choose? Family class or Spouse? It's the "in Canada Class" that is throwing me off, as we are applying Outland.

This may be a stupid question, but my brain is fried from working on the application for so many hours today!

Thanks for your quick responses.

I say that you choose "family class" though I don't think it makes much difference since the choices are only used to determine the fees so far as I know. The receipt that you get only lists the total amount of fees that you paid; it doesn't say anything about what you are applying for. I'm 99% sure that the "SCLPC" class is for in-Canada applications, but I really don't think it makes a difference because the fees are the same for one sponsor and one sponsored applicant.

Conflicting answers....can someone else please chime in? I really want to finish the application this weekend!

It's the same price either way and as long as it's the right amount it shouldn't matter.

I just sponsored my spouse and the application passed the first stage, I picked "Spouse and...."

Family is for parents and other relatives...
