I have a query regarding my job NOC code. I have been working as a Postdoc Fellow in Geology for the last 2 years.
The National Occupational Classification (NOC) system does not have a specific code explicitly labeled "postdoctoral researcher." Instead, individuals in postdoctoral positions are classified under the NOC code that most closely matches their field of research and job duties. For a postdoctoral researcher in geology, the appropriate NOC code is typically NOC 21102: Geoscientists and Oceanographers. Is this correct? Although Postdoc has a broad NOC 41200, my duties as a postdoc closely align with those of NOC 21102. Can my current postdoc experience be considered as NOC 21102 job experience? I would appreciate your guidance on this matter.
