Hi everyone, I have a question as the title shows. That job is qualified as NOC B.

Thank you all so much!

did you hold a valid work permit during your internship ?

Meaning it was not a study permit based work permit ( CO-OP)

if you had a individual work permit for the internship and they paid you, it counts !

refer this link : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

It clearly states the following

Your work experience must be:
1) At least one year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week), continuous full-time or an equal amount in part-time,
2) Paid work (volunteer work, unpaid internships do not count),
3) In the same job,
4) Within the last 10 years, and
5) At skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2011 National Occupational Classification (NOC).

Thank you! I read this before and it only mentioned "unpaid internships do not count" instead of internship with paid is countable. That's why I get confused. ;D

So u do agree with this?

ok, i always take internship as work before graduation. So if you worked after graduation with proper permits, then yes it counts

My bad. Maybe I should say probation but not internship :D

BTW, is there any difference between those two words?

Well words like Co-op, Internship are throwing around loosely even by universities

I think calling a after-grad job as internship is highly misleading. It's specific for jobs related to study, so a student is better prepared when they graduate.

A non-permanent, post graduation job is a contract job.

If the paid work experience was gained outside of Canada (FSW class), and falls under NOC 0, A, B, it counts even if it took place before graduation.

Even for regulated professions? Paid internship in engineering done before graduation would count? Thank you!
