Hi everyone,

I have been working part time for 2 years OFF-CAMPUS as a receptionist while being enrolled full-time in a Canadian University.

Can I use this work experience to be eligible to apply under the FSW express entry system?

Thanks!!

It can help your eligibility but it won't add any CRS points.

Thank you for your answer!

That was what I was wondering, I know that I will not get any additional points from that work experience, my concern is if I am even eligible to apply, given that according to CIC:

"Self-employment and work experience gained while you were a full-time student (for example, on a co-op work term) does not count under this program." :'(

Does that mean that I won't be considered? My only work experience is in Canada, I don't have any outside Canada.

You won't be eligible under the CEC program.

For the FSW program as long as you meet the 67/100 points and have a year of continuous full-time work experience you will qualify.

Again you will get "0" CRS points but I recently saw an applicant who was in the exact same situation and his CRS score due to his education in Canada was high enough to get an ITA.

Whether your application will be considered that I do not know - we have never seen this before but thanks to extra points given for Canadian education and the low draw cutoff scores getting an ITA is possible for applicant in this situation.

Do you think 2 years of continuous part time work = 1 year full time work count?

Thank so much for all the great advice! I appreaciate it :)
