So ... I got my VISA (Study permit) approved, and its duration is from July 2018 to November 2020 (2 years+). I was supposed to enroll in Memorial University right in this Fall. Unfortunately, due to a personal problem, it will be difficult for me to attend Memorial this Fall. So I'm thinking of deferring my degree to Fall 2019 (next year).
Now, my question is: Will my Study Permit stay VALID even if I don't enroll in any university until next Fall? From what I know, Study Permits require that I enroll and continue in a Canadian university continuously from the moment of my VISA until its deadline. So if I defer my degree to next year, and want to go abroad next year using the VISA that I have now, will that be possible? After all my VISA is valid for two years from now on. Or will the VISA authorities cancel my VISA if I don't go right away? Or can I use this same VISA (since validity period will not be over) to go next year instead of this one?
Please let me know if getting study permit requires you to travel abroad and enroll immediately, and if it will lead to a cancellation of my VISA if I don't go this year.
It's an urgent matter so please kindly help me out.
