Hi All, my husband has intention to travel to Canada in June/July for his studies, can I travel with him as spouse, it's not that clear on CIC website. I am from a country that normally doesn't require visit visa to travel to canada, just eTA, which I have.

Yes but you need to prove your travel is essential not just to be with your husband. For example, if your husband has a medical condition then show how he needs help.

Thanks for your reply, no he is fit and well. In that case, I presume they not letting families enter under normal circumstances. Would it be any different if I had an open work permit (although I don't plan on working in Canada)? Even then, they probably will want job offer etc.

Rules change everyday so here are the current rules. If you can show you are just staying to get him settled and then leaving then you should be able to enter.

My husband has raised a webform to ask for written authorisation, there are some detailed instructions on the IRCC website on how to do so.

There will be other students on this forum who will already have travelled with their families in the last few months.
