Can i renew my Passport after getting eCOPR but before PR card?

I just got ecopr and need to renew my passport since it only has a couple of months left before expiry.
Is it an issue? Should I wait until i receive a PR card and then renew?

Would it delay my process if i update the passport now?

I am assuming you are in Canada and already became a PR. Your PR card has nothing to do with your passport.

Just apply for a new passport.

Yes, I am in canada and just got issued eCOPR after family sponsorship. I'm waiting now for my first PR card.

Your PR status or your PR card is not tie to your current passport.
So you can renew it.
