I'm on my final steps with the spousal sponsorship. I have booked a travel on january and I'm afraid I won't receive my PR card yet by then. Is it possible to travel with just the ECOPR?

PR Card or Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) is required to re-enter Canada. However, I believe, you can cross the Canada-US land border from the United States without one by showing proof of permanent residency, such as a copy of your eCOPR

I’m in the same position as yourself, I’ll keep an eye on this the thread lol. I myself will be travelling January and I’m afraid I won’t get PR card by then too.

Note: A Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) must be applied for while you are abroad, and it can take several weeks to be approved. Therefore, you’ll need to allow enough time before returning to Canada.

The best option is to walk or drive (private vehicle only) across the U.S./Canada border if you have a valid U.S. visa. When returning from your trip, you should land in any U.S. city near the Canadian border and then walk or drive across. This is completely legal, and you won’t have any problems with the CBSA officer.

Please, don't forget to return to this topic and let others know how long you waited for your PR Card.
