I'm currently on a PGWP which is valid until early next year. However, my visitor visa is set to expire in October.

My AOR was more than 1 year ago and I’m still in the security screening stage.

My question is:
Can I renew both my visitor visa and work permit at the same time while I'm under security screening? Or do I need to renew one before the other? If so, which one should I prioritize?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Would suggest applying for the TRV first. Processing can take a while so I would apply before October if possible. If you want to travel or think your may have to travel outside Canada I would apply months in advance. The one issue that needs to be considered is your passport expiry date. The expiry dates or your visas and permits will coincide with the expiry of your passport so if your passport is expiring soon I would start with renewing your passport. Assume you are planning on applying for a BOWP and you qualify for one. If so I would apply before your PGWP expires with bit of buffer time. If for some reason your BOWP is returned you will still be able to resubmit the application before your PGWP is expired. This is not necessary but if you want to be very cautious that is the best option. If you become a PR before your PGWP expires that would be the best outcome!
