Can I re-enter Canada with only 15 days left on my work permit?

Hey everyone,
I’m currently on a Canadian work permit that expires in about 15 days, and I have a new work permit application already in process (submitted before expiry). My TRV is valid until 2030.


I’m planning to travel outside Canada for a short trip and come back before my current work permit expires. Does anyone know if I’ll be allowed to re-enter Canada with only a few days left on my permit, even though my extension is already in progress?


Has anyone done this recently? Any risks or issues at the border?

What the of WP is expiring and what WP or extension did you apply for and when? Are you currently working and will return to work to the same employer associated with the new WP? You may be questioned about your exact situation and whether you have a genuine WP application that is likely to be approved.
