Can I quit school and wait for the open work permit (OWP) approval? (Urgent)

I am holding a study permit. I have also applied for an open work permit (OWP) on Sept 2023.

I want to quit the school and wait for the open work permit approval.

Can I stay in Canada and wait for the approval? Or there any method that I can stay in Canada while waiting the approval?

If anyone have the same situation and have a solution? Please give me advice. Thanks.
