Hi,

Here is the situation.

My ANIP (I'm on https://www.albertacanada.com/opportunity/immigrating/ainp-srs-strategic-recruitment-stream.aspx which does not require an employer to apply with me) application status is IN PROCESS on CIC.

- Medical has been done and received.
- RPRF is paid (they request RPRF about 3 weeks ago on Apr 15 2014)

I am waiting for Passport Request, and Landing.

Can I quit my job ?

I feel terrible at my current job and it's just going no where. I hate it and dread it so much, my job is starting to affect my mental health. The only reason I stay because I fear is if quitting my job would complicate my application (rejection - knock on wood). However I never have any confirmation that my concern is true.

Any advice ? Please ? I'm really really stressed about my job, I need to stop working to regain my sanity.

It may not require an employer to apply with you, but you still had to have one to apply in the first place, right? And you'd have to notify the AINP office (whatever they're called - I can never remember) if there are changes to your employment status.

My best advice is to contact the AINP office anonymously (just in case) and ask. You're probably going to hear something like "We'll review your application", which in Canadian English means "We'll withdraw your nomination".

It sucks that you hate your job so much, but you're pretty close. Sucking it up might just be the best course of action. It doesn't matter that your job is going nowhere - the plan is not to keep doing it.
