So it's long vacations..

You do what you have to do on your vacation period but be aware of the risks involved.

Something else I was thinking.
If I was working in Canada and my company had some business in USA, would this change anything about leaving Canada but for work?

No not really. If you were ever denied entry back to Canada while away for work, then your inland app would still be cancelled. Doesn't matter what the reason was you left Canada (vacation, work, family etc).

As I said, having a work permit does not guarantee re-entry back to Canada, although the risk of refusal should be small.

In general if you intend to work or want to vacation outside Canada during processing, you are supposed to apply outland.

The risk is still the same. Your work visa is meant for you to work within Canada. Not to go on international business trips on a regular basis without any risks. If you want that option either apply outland or earn yourself a PR first.

OK guys!

But remember having those items doesn't guarantee that you will be allowed back into Canada. The immigration officer you happen to get can refuse you or cause problems for any number or reasons despite you having a valid work visa. Of course as mentioned, the chance of this is small... but the risk is always there.
