Hi All,

My spouse had applied under CEC few months back as the main applicant and me being dependent. I am also eligible to apply as the main applicant.

1) My question is that can I apply now since we are not very sure if our application will be a success? Can we have two parallel applications in play?
i.e. One- my spouse main applicant with me as dependent and
Second - me being the main applicant and my spouse being dependent?

2) If answer to above question is yes, then what all do I have to take care? e.g. if we get through the first application, can I cancel the 2nd one? Will CIC revert the fees of the 2nd one? Will there be any issue if have 2 appls in play?

Appreciate your response. Thank you

I believe you must have received your AOR by now for your first application. What makes you think that the first application may not be successful?

Once you file the application and receive AOR after assessing eligibility, my understanding is that CIC is not going to refund any money back. Also when you file the second application by keeping the first one in process you need to provide an explanation to CIC why you are filing the second one at this stage. Withdrawing the first one and filing the second is just going to kill time.
