Can I get EI？

hello
I am a refugee now .
and work permit almost expire . But I have applied new work permit 1 month before .
and now I get layoff from my company .and worked this company full time over 8 months .

So can I get EI? and how ?

If u applied for work permit extension u can continue working on the same terms with your employer it wont affect your employment

People on open work permits can receive EI if they meet all of the requirements. However, as far as I know, Implied Status is not recognized, so you would not actually receive benefits until you get your new work permit.

I suggest you contact Service Canada.
